Mike and Brenda Urquhart will welcome us at their Alpaca Farm for 1:00 pm at 949 Portage Vale Rd, Portage Vale, NB.
Alpacas are from South America. They are intelligent, very curious and non-aggressive. They were domesticated approximately 7,000 years ago, long before horses. They can tolerate harsh climatic conditions. The average adult weight is between 140 to 175 pounds. These gentle creatures are a pleasure to work with and a delight to watch. They all have personality plus. They look forward to visitors as they know treats may be in hand... like graham crackers and cheerios.
When: Sunday, Nov 4th
Time: Meet at 12:00 noon - leave at 12:15
Where: McDonalds, Magnetic Hill
After the farm visit, we will head towards Gordon Falls which is only a 20 min drive from there. Bring some snacks. We will not be stopping for meals. It would be a good idea to carpool because there is not much parking area at the falls. Be polite and offer to share gas expense with the driver. :-)
